George F. Fink, B. Comm., CA
Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board
George Fink is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Geomark Exploration Ltd. Mr. Fink’s career spans 40 years, primarily in the natural resource sectors, and he was previously the President, CEO and Director of Comaplex Minerals Corp. and is also currently the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Bonterra Energy Corp. and the President and CEO of Pine Cliff Energy Ltd., all public companies. Mr. Fink previously worked for Shaw Pipe Industries, Ranger Oil Ltd., Comaplex Resources International Ltd. and Comstate Resources Ltd. before starting Comaplex Minerals Corp (a spinoff from Comstate).
Mr. Fink sits on the Board of Directors of the Small Explorers and Producers Association of Canada (SEPAC) and has formerly served on the Board of Governors of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP). Mr. Fink holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and has received his designation as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
Mark J. Balog, B.Sc. (Geology); P. Geol.
President and Chief Operating Officer
Mark Balog is the Chief Operating Officer of Geomark Exploration Ltd. Mr. Balog most recently held the same position at Comaplex Minerals Corp where he had held positions of increasing responsibility in his 22 years with that company. Mr. Balog has worked as a geologist in numerous countries in the past 29 years, where he has been involved in grassroots exploration to mine discovery and development activities. He has extensive experience in mineral exploration and development in Canada’s North. Mr. Balog holds a Bachelor of Science (Geology) degree from the University of Calgary and is a licensed Professional Geologist in Alberta (APEGGA) and in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (NAPEGG).
Robb D. Thompson, CA, B. Comm. (Honors)
Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary
Mr. Thompson joined Bonterra in February of 2011 as Vice President, Finance and now holds the position of Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary. In addition to the above, he is also engaged part-time as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Bonterra Energy Corp. and Pine Cliff Energy Ltd. Prior thereto, from February 2008 to October 2010, Mr. Thompson was the Chief Financial Officer of Sonde Resources Corp., a public oil and gas company. and held the same position from January 2007 to January 2008 at Berkana Energy Inc., a public oil and gas company. From September 2000 to December 2006, Mr. Thompson was the Chief Executive Officer of Dynetek Industries Ltd., a public alternative energy company
